Hendersonville showed its heart yesterday morning as an estimated 1,500 runners along with a handful of enthusiastic furry companions filled the streets for one of our city’s favorite annual traditions. With cool November air, blue skies overhead, and a whole lot of hometown pride, residents of all ages came together to celebrate health, community, and togetherness.
This year’s turnout was one of the strongest we’ve seen. From serious runners chasing personal records to families pushing strollers and dog owners jogging beside their pups, the event truly represented the diverse spirit of Hendersonville. A few of the crowd-favorite moments came from the dogs trotting proudly alongside their owners, enjoying the excitement just as much as the people.
Along the sidelines, neighbors and supporters held signs, snapped photos, and cheered as runners streamed down the course. Laughter, encouragement, and the sound of paws and shoes hitting the pavement created a lively atmosphere throughout the morning.
Local businesses, churches, school teams, and fitness groups stepped up as well, creating a colorful sea of shirts and banners representing every corner of the community. Water stations and snack tents near the starting area helped keep everyone hydrated and fueled, and volunteers made sure every participant felt supported from start to finish.

A very special thank you goes out to the Hendersonville Police Department for keeping the event safe and well-organized. Officers managed traffic at every major intersection, guided runners, and made sure the course stayed secure. Their professionalism and presence allowed families, runners, and even the pets to enjoy the morning without worry. Parents especially appreciated the friendly interactions between officers and children, including fist bumps, high-fives, and photo opportunities.
As participants crossed the finish line, medals were handed out, photos were taken, and plenty of proud moments were shared. For some, it was their first-ever 5K. For others, it was one more memory added to a long tradition. But for everyone from the fastest sprinters to the slowest walkers and the dogs who happily trotted the whole way the event showcased what makes Hendersonville such a special place to call home.
If you attended, we’d love for you to share your favorite photos or videos. And if you missed it, be sure to mark your calendar for next year. Events like this do more than promote health they bring our community closer together, one step (and one wagging tail) at a time.
